Golfer's & Tennis Elbow
One of the most common conditions that plague golfers and tennis players is golfers’ elbow and tennis elbow. These conditions were named after the sports that often cause these injuries, but they are common problems that can occur in anyone who uses their arms excessively. The problem is basically an inflammation of the muscle and tendon tissue on the outside or inside of the elbow.
When the forces acting on the elbow become greater than the strength of the muscles, the problem begins and can progress to the point where the individual is unable to perform their sports activities. Although strength is a consideration, another issue to identify is improper equipment (incorrect size or tension).
Physiotherapists can provide you with the expertise in exercise instruction to prevent or to control this problem.
