Company History
Reid Physiotherapy was first established as Cape Breton Physiotherapy in 1995. Owned and operated by Guy Reid, the company has grown into a gold standard physiotherapy provider in the Cape Breton region.
Reid Physio is located at 8 Maple Street,
directly off Welton Street in the Bell Plaza.
Community Relations
Reid Physio is pleased to contribute to the local community through its associations with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, the Sydney and Area Chamber of Commerce and the Sydney Rotary Club.
Our Staff
Our dedicated team of physiotherapists, occupational therapist, clinical psychologist, dietician and administrators are the heart of the company. Because of our staff’s advanced training, we are pleased to offer direct-care physiotherapy.

Guy Reid, Physiotherapist,
Certified Athletic Therapist
Guy is the company owner, manager and clinical coordinator. A graduate of Dalhousie’s School of Physiotherapy in 1992, Guy graduated from Acadia University in 1986 and 1989 with degrees in physical education and biology. Following his athletic pursuits with the varsity hockey team, Guy commenced work with the Athletic Therapy program and has worked with several university teams including the Acadia hockey, basketball and football programs, Dalhousie Hockey, Saint Mary’s Hockey and the Cape Breton University’s hockey program.
Guy has participated as a therapist at the 1985 and 1987 Canada Games, Head Therapist at the 2001 Skate Canada Eastern Challenge, 2002 World Junior Co-Chair of Rehabilitation, doping control official for the National Short Speed Track Championships, National Weight Lifting Team, CIAU Athletics and the Council for Drug Free Sports. Currently he is a physiotherapist consultant for the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
As a Certified Athletic Therapist; his clinical focus has been sports medicine but for the past 13 years Guy has been primarily involved with industrial rehabilitation and the functional assessment process with the Workers Compensation Board. Trained as a Key and Isernhagen Assessment Evaluator, Guy has had extensive experience in all aspects of functional testing and its application.
He is the past President of the Cape Breton District of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and continues to be a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy’s Private Practice, Orthopedics and Sports Divisions.
